How low in body fat should men go for optimal hormones for muscle growth?
Research shows body fat percentage is linked to a man’s growth hormone levels, which is in turn linked to testosterone levels [Veldhuis 1995].
However, they only investigated men 11% body fat and up. At leaner body fat levels of 5-8%, testosterone levels likely plummet [Mitchell 2018]
These increases or decreases in testosterone can greatly influence how much muscle you can gain and fat you can lose.
